(serves 6-10)
I LOVE lasagna and it's one of my husband's favorite foods but I HATE the time it takes to make it. So I decided to come up with a quicker way to make lasagna. This takes about 10-15 minutes to make...seriously. You brown the meat while you're cooking the noodles and then you toss everything together! Voila! I call the result...SKILLET LASAGNA...and YES this was totally MY idea...yes, I'm very proud of it! Let me know what you think! PLEASE!
INGREDIENTS
1 jar PREGO spaghetti sauce (Traditional or with Mushrooms added, your choice...I like traditional)
2 C shredded Mozzarella Cheese (buy this already shredded....it's just easier and saves even more time)
1 lb Jimmy Dean Sausage (regular flavor...watch out! maple does NOT taste good in this)
1 T Italian Seasoning (I like the one from Pampered Chef the best)
1 box of "mini" Penne noodles (Barilla brand...it's a blue box)
DIRECTIONS
- Boil the noodles according the directions on the package. Remove from heat. Drain. Set aside.
- Brown the sausage in a LARGE skillet.
- Combine sausage, cooked noodles, Prego sauce, Italian seasoning, and shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Mix until sauce and noodles are heated through and the cheese is melted and mixed well.
